Do you want to help shape the future of care for children and young people? As a specialist physician in child and adolescent psychiatry at our clinic in Skärholmen, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young patients while developing professionally.
BUP Skärholmen is an outpatient child and adolescent psychiatric clinic serving the areas of Hägersten-Liljeholmen, Älvsjö, Skärholmen, and northern Botkyrka. We are located in pleasant premises in Skärholmen Galleria. Our mission is to assess and treat children and adolescents aged 0–17 with moderate to severe child psychiatric conditions.
At BUP Skärholmen, you will work in an environment with broad and specialized competence. We are a team of over 45 employees, consisting of specialist physicians, resident doctors (ST-läkare), psychologists, counselors, nurses, occupational therapists, collaboration counselors, and medical secretaries.
You will become part of the medical group, which includes several specialist physicians, resident doctors, attending physicians, and nurses. This group holds a medical round every week to discuss ongoing patients, as well as meetings for information exchange and development of working methods.
Job Description
As a specialist physician, you play a central role in contributing medical expertise to the daily child psychiatric work. You are responsible for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, including both medical interventions and neuropsychiatric investigations. The role involves actively contributing to the development and improvement of the clinic's routines and working methods, with the goal of ensuring high-quality, safe patient care.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a specialist physician with specialization in child and adolescent psychiatry or general psychiatry, approved for practice in Sweden. You must have the competence to investigate, assess, and be responsible for patients' medical treatment. You should have good knowledge of diagnostics and pharmacological treatment. Experience in supervision is meritorious as the role includes supervising resident doctors.

Additional Information
The position is a permanent full-time employment. Working hours are during the day, Monday–Friday. Start date is by agreement.

About Us
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Stockholm (BUP) offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents under 18 years of age within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Services (SLSO), which is a healthcare provider within Region Stockholm. Together, BUP employs over 1,200 people who meet over 22,000 children, young people, and their families every year.
The position is subject to the condition that it does not need to be filled by internal transfer, according to current regulations.
For patient-facing work within Stockholm County Healthcare Services:
- A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through the occupational health service before employment.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to a Swedish professional license. The same requirement applies to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
